We have a vegetable garden at work and just today I was thinking of photographing the zucchini and their flowers. What variety of zucchini are these? They look irresistible!

Hi Sabrina. Love the color, and the texture. Generally fried I made risotto, and also baked with goat cheese inside. Both dishes were excellent. They are French heirloom summer squash, usually found in the Farmers Market. You can hollow them out and stuff them with meat, rice or veggie they will maintain the shape. Very useful salt the inside for 30 minutes to extract the water.

Thanks Adriana. They remind me of Gem Squash–a childhood favourite I haven’t been able to find here. Now I will keep an eye out at the Farmers Market for these instead. Thanks too for the salt tip!
